Interdisciplinary Studies, BA
An interdisciplinary degree offers students a way to merge multiple interests to create a unique degree. This degree could address a need that cannot be met by existing structures or provide an opportunity for students to pursue compelling interdisciplinary directions in their own research and teaching.
Cognitive archaeology is a multidisciplinary field that draws primarily upon concepts and theories from psychology and anthropology to reach a broader understanding of archaeological artifacts and the minds of their makers. This discipline also applies concepts and theories from other fields such as the neurosciences, neuropsychology, linguistics, evolutionary theory, behavioral genetics, and philosophy.
This degree plan integrates a core set of cybersecurity courses offered by the College of Business with specified LAS focus areas (SOC, Data Analysis, GIS, TCID). Additional emphases may be added after the initial degree pilot.
Cognitive Studies Minor
Cognitive Studies is an interdisciplinary area of research concerned with understanding the nature and development of intelligent capacities such as perception, language, reasoning, planning, problem-solving, and related skills. The program is administered under the direction of Professor Dorothea Olkowski, email@example.com.
Interdisciplinary Linguistics Minor
The Interdisciplinary Linguistics Minor requires a minimum of 18 credit hours of course work to include a minimum of 9 credit hours of upper-division (3000+) courses. Students must achieve a grade of C- or better in all courses completed for the minor.
Mathematics as Liberal Art Minor
Interdepartmental credit hours earned will count toward a degree in Letters, Arts & Sciences as electives. Students wishing to use ID credit hours in other colleges should consult with the academic advisors of their respective colleges. Selected courses will be offered each semester.
