INFS 639 - Principles of Programming

3 Credits

Introduces the student to the concepts of computer programming using MS Excel (version 2002 or higher) and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) Excel is a familiar environment that has a very robust programming language, VBA, underlying it Using VBA, a student can more easily understand and apply the basic concepts found in programming languages These concepts include, but are not limited to: objects, methods, GUI design, variables, conditional statements, case statements, counted loops, conditional loops, file I/O, arrays, subroutines, functions, etc While the course concentrates on programming concepts, the student will also become much more productive with Excel and other MS Office products.Distance MBA course Tuition schedule differs from on-campus course.Prerequisites: Basic computer literacy skills or INFS 609
