WEST 3570 - South Sea Tales: Decoloniality & lndigeneity in Transpacific Literature3 Credits (Minimum) 3 Credits (Maximum)
We will examine the imperial and colonial texts of American and British explorers of the 18th and 19th centuries, centered in the Pacific Islands. The course asks you to consider the Pacific Islands in terms of Pacifika-centered epistemologies, decoloniality, and indigeneity. Approved for LAS Humanities area and Global Awareness requirements. Prer., ENGL 1410 or consent of instructor.
