ECON 3730 - Economics of South Asia3 Credits (Minimum) 3 Credits (Maximum)
This course will provide students with an understanding of the how economic issues within South Asia have evolved in the post-colonial period. Topics include the role of the state in post-colonial economic development and a concern with industrialization, technical change and development of human capital; the impact of patron-client relationships on economic performance, agriculture and environment; globalization, economic reform and poverty and income inequality. Prer., ECON 2020 or instructor consent.
