Chemistry Minor

A student may complete a minor in chemistry by finishing the following course work with grades of C or better:

Two Courses (6-7 credit hours) selected from the following:

CHEM 4010 - Inorganic Chemistry I
CHEM 4020 - Inorganic Chemistry Laboratory
CHEM 4050 - Topics in Chemistry (Some Topics in Chemistry courses may be applied as upper level chemistry electives. Check with the department.)
CHEM 4100 - Bioinorganic Chemistry
CHEM 4170 - Analytical Chemistry I
CHEM 4180 - Analytical Chemistry II (Concurrent registration with CHEM 4200 required.)
CHEM 4200 - Practical Instrumental Analysis (Concurrent registration with CHEM 4180 required.)
CHEM 4500 - Biophysical Chemistry (If not taking CHEM 4510.)
CHEM 4510 - Physical Chemistry I (If not taking CHEM 4500.)
CHEM 4520 - Physical Chemistry II (Concurrent registration with CHEM 4540 required.)
CHEM 4540 - Experimental Physical Chemistry (Concurrent registration with CHEM 4520 required.)
CHEM 4810 - Biochemistry I (If not taken as BIOL 4810, or if not taking CHEM 4830.)
CHEM 4820 - Biochemistry II (If not taken as BIOL 4820, or if not taking CHEM 4830.)
CHEM 4830 - Biochemistry Principles (If not taking CHEM 4810/4820.)
CHEM 4840 - Molecular Biology (If not taken as BIOL 4840.)
CHEM 4860 - Biochemistry Laboratory (If not taken as BIOL 4860.)

Note:

Students pursuing a BS in Biology must select courses that are not part of their degree program requirements in order to complete a chemistry minor. Students should familiarize themselves with the prerequisite requirement for these courses.
