Students pursuing the Undergraduate Certificate in Artificial Intelligence in Business gain sought-after expertise and skills to succeed in today’s evolving AI-powered workplace. The AI in Business program builds a solid foundation in AI fundamentals, AI-enabled business decision-making, and the ethical and responsible use of AI. Students learn how AI creates value across key business functions, strengthens problem solving, improves performance, and supports strategic decisions. Through hands-on, experiential learning, including access to advanced AI tools through CU’s adoption of ChatGPT EDU, students develop the confidence to identify where AI can help, evaluate how to use it effectively, and apply it responsibly in real-world professional settings. As organizations across industries rapidly integrate generative AI into their workflows, this certificate helps students stand out with practical, field-ready skills they can apply across a wide range of organizational roles and career paths.
Admission Requirements: The Undergraduate Certificate in AI in Business is open to current UCCS students and non-degree seeking students. Current UCCS students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0. The program follows UCCS requirements for non-degree seeking students.
To support student success, all registered students are provided with free access to LinkedIn Learning courses. Students are encouraged to use these resources as a refresher or preparatory “warm‑up” prior to beginning certificate coursework.
Students who have not completed a college‑level quantitative and qualitative reasoning course (such as INDS 1050 or an equivalent) are strongly encouraged to complete one or more recommended LinkedIn Learning modules in reasoning or data literacy before starting the certificate program. These no‑cost resources are intended to help ensure appropriate readiness for the certificate courses.
