The Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) is a 52 credit hour program preparing students to become an athletic trainer. The MSAT program is designed to guide students from basic skill and knowledge acquisition toward becoming an independent, proficient athletic trainer. Our model of development focuses on growth, not only in athletic training skills, but also in critical thinking abilities, interprofessional health care, and leadership skills. We aim to have graduates who are high quality athletic trainers with the ability to become leaders who can advance the field of athletic training. Students will participate in clinical education experiences with a variety of affiliated clinical education sites. Additional information about the MSAT program, including pre-requisite requirements, can be found on the web site.
The MSAT can be completed as a 52-credit hour 2-year program, or can be completed as a 52-credit hour concurrent degree program with up to 10 dual credits counting toward the BS in Exercise Science. Students wishing to pursue the concurrent degree should consult the BS in Exercise Science: Athletic Training Prep Track .
