Graduate Certificate in GIScience

IMPORTANT: Beginning Fall 2018, a new GIScience Certificate plan was developed (as described below). Students who started work on the GIScience Certificate before Fall 2018 may follow the old GIScience Certificate requirements Version 1, or old GIScience Certificate requirements Version 2, or may opt to use the new GIScience Certificate requirements. All students beginning GIScience Certificate work during or after Fall 2018 are required to follow the new requirements. The undergraduate GIScience certificate consists of three required and two elective courses. Students seeking the certificate must currently be in a UCCS degree program. To earn the certificate, students must complete 20 credits: 12 from the required courses and 8 from the set of elective courses. A minimum grade of C must be earned in all certificate courses.
Applying for the Undergraduate Certificate in GIScience
Students must submit application to the certificate coordinator, Dr. Diep Dao (tdao@uccs.edu).

- GES 3030 - Introduction to GIS
- GES 3060 - Remote Sensing of the Environment
- GES 4080 - Advanced Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
Any Two Elective Courses (8 credits)
- GES 3050 - Introduction to Cartography
- GES 4130 - Introduction to Geospatial Computing
- GES 4070 - Geovisualization
- GES 4090 - Image Analysis for Environmental Research
- GES 4120 - Internet Geographic Information Systems
- GES 4700 - Geographic Issues
