CHEM 5520 - Physical Chemistry II

3 Credits (Minimum) 3 Credits (Maximum)

Lecture. The application of quantum mechanics to atomic and molecular structure and spectra. The application of statistical mechanics to the prediction of thermodynamic properties. Transition state theory of reaction rate. Students will read primary literature articles and prepare oral presentations or written projects. Prer., CHEM 4510 with a grade of “C” or higher. Coreq., CHEM 4540 or CHEM 4550. Graduate students only. Meets with CHEM 4520.
