SOC 4280 - Sociology of Police Violence3 Credits (Minimum) 3 Credits (Maximum)
This course examines various forms of police violence using an intersectional and critical sociological lens. The course studies the historical and contemporary use of police violence in US society by considering policing practices, work culture, social inequalities, and social identities. Prer., Completion of 60 credit hours of undergraduate coursework. Approved for Compass Curriculum: Inclusiveness-Diversity & Power Dynamics (Locall). Meets with SOC 5280.
