Samba is an umbrella term that encompasses different Afro-Brazilian dances. This studio course introduces the movement vocabulary, cultural, and social aspects of specific styles of Samba. Readings, video viewing, writing, and in-class creative projects will inform movement exploration. Approved for Compass Curriculum: Inclusiveness-Diversity & Power Dynamics (Global).
