This course explores how historical and contemporary systems shape individual and community experiences. Emphasizing awareness, critical thinking, and meaningful dialogue, students will examine how social structures impact service delivery and participation in community life. Through engagement and interaction, students will develop core social work skills in communication, collaboration, and responsiveness across various settings. Focus is placed on ethical practice and navigating complex social dynamics to promote effective problem-solving at both individual and systems levels. Prer., SOWK 1001 and SOC 1110.
