SOWK 3050 - Social Work Practicum Preparation

This course prepares students for senior-year practicum by deepening their understanding of generalist social work practice across individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities. Students build on foundational knowledge and skills from SOWK 3001 (The Helping Relationship), emphasizing intermediate communication, assessment, and introductory intervention strategies. The course supports students’ professional development and career readiness, including preparing resumes, applying to the professional program, and securing practicum placements. Emphasis is placed on developing professional competence, ethical decision-making, and readiness for practicum experience. Prer., SOWK 3001. Junior standing. Course typically offered: Fall, Spring
