CRJU 5990 - Intergovernmental & Public-Private Sector Coordination in Homeland Security & Emergency Management3 Credits (Minimum) 3 Credits (Maximum)
An in-depth study of the relationships between and among the many agencies involved in homeland security and emergency management across public and private sectors throughout the national, state, and local levels. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the leadership, communication, coordination, technology, policy, and significant issues within the United States. Major topics will include the homeland security and emergency management processes, change management, consequence management, intergovernmental and interagency relationships, legal issues, information sharing, organization theory, and public management dimensions. In addition, the course will cover the role the private sector plays during times of emergencies and disasters. Prer., Graduate and nondegree graduate students only. Meets with PADM 5990.
