Study of the origin, development, and current order of the Chicano community. Includes studies of the “Barrio,” ethnic-identity, social values, and the consequences of prejudice and discrimination. Approved for Compass Curriculum: Inclusiveness-Diversity & Power Dynamics (Local). Prer., SOC 1110 or SOC 2200. Meets with SOC 3230.
