SOC 4960 - Juvenile Delinquency

Critical social science inquiry and sociological theories are used to examine youth crime in modem U.S. society. Studies structural inequalities and social differences in relationship to youth criminalization and disparities in the juvenile justice system. Explores youth gangs, drug use, policing and violence. Meets with SOC 5960 and WEST 4960. Approved for Compass Curriculum: Inclusiveness-Diversity & Power Dynamics (Local). Prer., A minimum of 60 credit hours completed or consent of instructor.
