Study of the origin, development, and current order of the Chicano community. Includes studies of the “Barrio,” ethnic identity, social values, and the consequences of prejudice and discrimination. Approved for Compass Curriculum: Inclusiveness-Diversity & Power Dynamics (Local). Prer., SOC 1110 or SOC 2200. Meets with WEST 3230.
