HIST 1040 - Modern Europe: Revolution, War and Empire

Coverage of upheavals in European society, culture and government since 1800. Special attention to ideas of nation, race, class and gender and to revolution and empire-building. Attention to the arts, especially film and literature, as expressions of response to historical change. GT-HI1. Approved for LAS Humanities requirement.
