SOWK 5112 - Generalist Social Work Practicum Seminar II3 Credits (Minimum) 3 Credits (Maximum)
Second course of the two-course generalist practicum placement sequence. The course requires completion of a minimum of 200 practicum hours at an approved social service agency and classroom-based practicum integration sessions. Students are provided the context to put their social work knowledge, values, and skills to use in professional practice. Prepares students for work as generalist social workers, helps them learn to apply critical thinking skills, and increases their range of social work skills and techniques. The course also helps develop a self-awareness about one’s cognitive and affective processes in relation to professional practice and an understanding about the social work profession, perspective, and values. Prer., SOWK 5111. Graduate Social Work students only.
