FILM 3540 - The Western

The western is often described as the quintessential American genre if not the quintessential American art form. In this course we look at the Western as it grows from, produces and is embedded in film culture, but more broadly in the founding myths and conflicts of the United States. Prer., FILM 1000 and FILM 2000 or department permission.
