Information theory including entropy, mutual information, Markov chains, and channel capacity. Coding theory including block codes, convolutional codes, and an emphasis on modern coding techniques such as low-density parity-check codes. Prer., ECE 3610. College of Engineering students only. Meets with ECE 5645.
