ECE 4110 - Electromagnetic Theory and Applications

3 Credits (Minimum) 3 Credits (Maximum)

An intermediate level fields course beginning with the classical development of Maxwell’s equations and the Wave equation. Included are electrostatics, the steady magnetic field, plane-wave propagation, Poynting’s vector, guided waves, transmission lines, wave guides, the interaction of fields and matter, and concluding with an introduction to the subject of radiation. Dirac-delta and Dyadic Green’s function methods of problem solution are treated. Prer., ECE 3120. College of Engineering students only. Meets with ECE 5110.
