The Computer Engineering degree program prepares students for the application of computer technology to create solutions to real-world problems. The curriculum blends the foundations of electrical engineering with the key aspects of computer science with an emphasis on hardware applications for embedded systems.
General Information
The Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Engineering requires the following:
- A minimum of 128 hours must be completed with a cumulative CU GPA of 2.0.
- A grade of “C” or better in CS 1150 , CS 1450 , ECE 1411 , , ECE 2411 and ECE 2610 .
- Completion of an Exit Interview with the ECE Department Chair during the final semester of course work.
Additional course work is required to complete the Computer Engineering, BS degree. Please see the advising guide on the Academic Advising website for more information and a sample 4-year schedule.

The Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering prepares undergraduate students to:

Core Courses (62 credit hours)
ECE or CS Electives (9 credit hours)
Complete 9 credit hours of unused upper-division ECE courses (3000- or 4000-level) or choose from the list below. - NOTE: Additional 4000-level courses in CS, MAE, MATH and PES may be accepted with approval prior to taking the course.
Mathematics (21 credit hours)
Basic Science (12 credit hours)
Complete 9 credit hours of required Physics courses and 3 additional hours from the list below. ECE Exit Interview
