English Minor

Course Work

To complete a minor in English, a total of 21 credit hours is required. A student must pass (with a grade of C- or better) each of the following courses:

• Any 400 level Seminar in Literature.

• ENGL 190 - Introduction to Literary Studies (For English Majors Only) (a prerequisite to all other literature courses designed for English majors)

• or

• ENGL 252 - Survey of British Literature II

• ENGL 253 - Survey of British Literature III

• or

• ENGL 254 - Survey of British Literature IV

• ENGL 338 - Survey of American Literature I

• ENGL 339 - Survey of American Literature II

• ENGL 395 - Chaucer
• ENGL 397 - Shakespeare I

• or

• ENGL 398 - Shakespeare II

• ENGL 300 - Literary Criticism in Theory and Practice
