Graduate Certificate in Teaching Mathematics

This 24-credit graduate certificate provides the additional depth of mathematics content and pedagogical knowledge needed to make you a successful math teacher.
Apply what you learn in certificate courses directly into your classroom the next day! Sharpen your own understanding of mathematics as you learn to engage students in meaningful mathematics in grades K-8.
All courses are offered in a hybrid or remote format. UCCS institutional aid is available for this program.
This certificate fulfills the requirements of a Middle School Mathematics Endorsement from the Colorado Department of Education. Certificate courses may count toward a at UCCS.
Topics Include:
- Base-10 number systems and operations, rational numbers, proportional reasoning, geometric thinking, measurement concepts, algebraic thinking, and statistical competency
- Assessments & interventions for mathematics learners
- Standards- and evidence-based approaches for teaching mathematics
- Leadership in mathematics education
