UPPER-DIVISION COURSES (HIST 3000+ and above):
*21 hours for History BA
*15 hours for History/Education majors
In both cases, 3 of those hours must be your
SIX (6) of those hours in upper-division courses must come from the list of courses designated as Global History courses. Please see the History Advising sheet for a complete list of the courses that fulfill Global History requirement at the upper-division level. All of the courses that fulfill the Global History requirement in the major also fulfill the General Education “Inclusiveness” requirement.
SENIOR THESIS (HIST 4990): The History Department’s “capstone” experience is a Senior Thesis, required of all History majors, and done under the close supervision in a class (History 4990) taught by one of our regular faculty members or Instructors. In the Senior Thesis class, students will prepare a full-length (usually 25-30 pages) essay on a selected topic in History, relying heavily on original or primary sources.
