Students majoring in other Letters, Arts, and Sciences disciplines may elect a minor in any of the Political Science tracks: Political Science, American Politics/Public Law, Global Politics, or Public Administration.
Course Requirements
Each track requires a minimum of 18 hours of course work in political science, to include:
General Political Science: at least 9 hours of upper-division PSC course work of their choice.
American Politics and Public Law: 9 hours of upper-division from either American Political Institutions and Behavior or Public Administration, Policy and Law (see lists below)
Global Politics: at least 9 hours of upper-division courses selected from Global Politics (see list below)
Public Administration: 9hours of upper-division course work from Public Administration, Policy and Law (see list below)
Political Science Course Offerings
Courses at the 1000-level are designed for beginning students and 2000-level courses are taught at the sophomore level. Remaining courses are structured in a more advanced manner. Students without previous courses in political science should consult appropriate instructors before attempting to take courses numbered 3000 and above.
