A study of the nature, history, perspective and theories, and social control of mental illness. Societal factors related to the prevalence and labeling of mental illness, prepatient and mental hospital patient experiences, contemporary mental health facilities and public policies will be examined.Prerequisites: SOC 111 or consent of instructor
