CRJU 5553 - Women and Crime

This seminar explores issues surrounding women as offenders, victims, and criminal justice professionals. Investigates explanations for the involvement of women in illegal activities. Analyzes the plight of women with histories of trauma and other forms of criminal victimization. Examines the participation of women in victim advocacy, social services, law enforcement, judicial processes, corrections, and lawmaking. Prer., Graduate and nondegree graduate students only.
