ECE 5110 - Electromagnetic Theory and Applications

3 Credits

An intermediate-level fields course beginning with the classical development of Maxwell’s equations and the wave equation. Included are electrostatics, the steady magnetic fields, plane-wave propagation, Poynting’s vector, guided waves, transmission lines, wave guides, the interaction of fields and matter, and concluding with an introduction to the subject of radiation. Dirac-delta and Dyadic Green’s function methods of problem solution are treated.Prerequisites: ECE 3120 or equivalent.
