Elements of discrete mathematics. Formal mechanisms for specifying and verifying the correctness, reliability, and efficiency of software systems. State transition, regular expression, context free, and applicative models. Assertions, Hoare axioms, and weakest preconditions. State machine, algebraic, and operational specification techniques.
