From the Chancellor

Welcome to the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, a proud member of the four-campus University of Colorado system, one of the most respected public university systems in the nation.

Our campus creates access to education for almost 12,000 students each year and more than 2,000 students from across the globe who access course offerings online. We call Colorado Springs home - it’s where our incredible 500-acre campus enjoys blue skies, views of red sandstone and the iconic summit of 14,000-foot Pikes Peak.

Students can pursue degrees from six colleges and schools: the College of Business, College of Education, College of Engineering and Applied Science, College of Letters, Arts and Sciences, College of Public Service and the Helen and Arthur E. Johnson Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences. Each of our colleges and schools are supported by the Graduate School and the Kraemer Family Library.

Whether in person, online, or in a blended classroom environment, we are committed to student success. We offer undergraduate programs that provide critical thinking and problem-solving skills and that meet the needs of our region and beyond. Our selective, high-quality graduate programs focus on refining specific skills and the discovery of new knowledge through scholarly research. We regularly add new programs designed to help meet the needs of our communities and help students achieve the careers of their dreams.

UCCS students engage with faculty who are leaders and innovators. All tenured and tenure-track faculty have terminal degrees in their fields, while instructors bring to the classroom a unique blend of academic and professional experience. Outside of the classroom, UCCS students have the opportunity to meet new people with similar interests through hundreds of registered student clubs and organizations. Our forward-looking students take advantage of enriched experiences through a variety of service-learning projects, internships and study abroad opportunities. Through the collective efforts of faculty and staff, we aim to help students succeed through the building of transformational relationships with faculty, fellow students, alumni and community partners.

As southern Colorado’s only comprehensive regional research university, we are actively involved in creating a vibrant future for individuals and communities alike. We are proud to help students take their rightful place in the communities of the future: as teachers who will guide children, business leaders who will propel the economy, scientists and artists who will unlock new ideas for society, engineers who will build future innovations, first responders who will keep us safe, and health professionals who offer skilled and compassionate care.

We are proud to be southern Colorado’s leading university and to welcome you to our community of scholars.

Respectfully,

Venkat Reddy, Chancellor
