Teaching Sociology Graduate Certificate

The graduate certificate in Teaching Sociology is offered to sociology graduate students interested in practical training in the process of teaching sociology at the university level.

Dr. Heather Albanesi is the coordinator of the Graduate Certificate in Teaching Sociology.

General Requirements

  • Minimum requirement for completion: four courses, for a total of twelve credits.
  • A minimum grade of 3.3 is required for each course applied toward the certificate.
  • To complete the certificate program, students are required to submit a transcript and a five-page, typewritten self-statement. This should include the student’s teaching philosophy and reflections related to teaching as a result of program participation.

The certificate will be mailed to recipients upon completion of a certifcate audit.
