CHEM 1301 - General Chemistry I

A first college-level chemistry course for students with adequate high school chemistry. Emphasis on the structure and composition of matter: elements and compounds, atoms and molecules, and states of matter including solutions. Students having marginal mathematics backgrounds are advised to solidify their mathematics proficiencies before taking this course. Approved for the LAS Natural Science area requirement. Approved for Compass Curriculum requirement: Explore-Physical and Natural World. GT-SC1. Prer., one year of high school chemistry and two years of high school math.
